Arman shared his insights on how Islamic finance is increasingly driving real economic growth in Kazakhstan. Key points included the role of sukuk programmes in supporting SMEs, the rising demand for ethical investment, and Kazakhstan’s potential to become a Central Asian hub for Islamic finance.

During the session, he also announced the official launch of GWM Capital’s Future Minerals Junior Mining Fund, joined by members of our Shariah Advisory Board from Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan who witnessed this important milestone.

The panel brought together distinguished experts:

  • Mirlan Taimurzayev, CEO, Al Safi Bank
  • Farhat Sarsekeyev, Chairperson, Damu.Fund
  • Yahya Rehman, Global Lead Islamic Finance Advisory, Islamic Development Bank Institute (IsDBI)

We extend our sincere gratitude to Madina Tukulova, Head of Islamic Finance at the AIFC (Astana International Financial Centre), for her excellent moderation.

It was inspiring to exchange perspectives with leaders from the banking sector, development institutions, and asset management. We are confident that the momentum created at AFD will continue to drive innovation, collaboration, and real-economy impact across the Islamic finance landscape.
