GWM Capital at CSSOPE 2026: China–Kazakhstan Oil & Gas Procurement, Localization & Technology Partnership Session

Shanghai — 2026. GWM Capital Ltd. was pleased to participate in the China–Kazakhstan Oil & Gas Procurement, Localization & Technology Partnership Session at CSSOPE 2026 — the China Shanghai Summit on Oil & Petrochemical Equipment.

The session convened government representatives, industry leaders, equipment manufacturers, EPC contractors, technology suppliers, and investors to discuss cross-border cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.

This year's agenda reflected growing interest in Kazakhstan as an investment destination for industrial cooperation. Discussions covered oil transportation and refining infrastructure, localization opportunities, procurement initiatives of NC KazMunayGas, FEED-to-EPC support, market entry mechanisms, national support measures, supplier qualification, JV models, and investment structuring.

The Kazakhstan side was represented by a strong delegation, including Mr. Bolat Akchulakov, Chairman of KAZENERGY; Mr. Nurlan Akkoshkarov, Consul General of Kazakhstan in Shanghai; Mr. Daulet Arykbayev, Ministry of Energy; Mr. Dastan Abishev, IMB Center; Mr. Salim Nagym, NC KazMunayGas JSC; Ms. Zhanar Gilimova, Texol Management; Ms. Bibigul Ilyubayeva, KGNT Engineering Company; Mr. Krishnamurthy Thiruvenkada Varadhan, KMG PetroChem LLP; Mr. Daulet Kurmangaliyev, Oilfield Production Consultants (Asia) LLP; Ms. Dana Sarsenbayeva, TotalEnergies Renewables Kazakhstan; Mr. Daulet Tulegenov, Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc.; Mr. Aidar Dosbayev, HQ Projects LLP; and other representatives of Kazakhstan's energy and industrial ecosystem.

GWM Capital was represented by CEO Miras Moldabayev, who delivered a presentation on "Legal Aspects and Investment Structuring in Kazakhstan," focusing on structured market entry, legal considerations, investment vehicles, SPC/SPV structures, fund-based solutions, investment contracts, and the role of the Astana International Financial Centre in cross-border structuring.

Beyond the official agenda, GWM Capital held meetings with Chinese companies, manufacturers, EPC contractors, and investors. A key takeaway from Shanghai was the strong interest of Chinese companies in entering the Kazakhstan market, forming local partnerships, and participating in industrial projects. Discussions also advanced on EPC+F cooperation models — combining engineering, procurement, construction, and financing for projects in Kazakhstan.

For GWM Capital, this trip reinforced Kazakhstan's position as a platform for industrial growth, localization, investment, and regional expansion.

Together with OD Consulting, GWM Capital continues to support international clients with market entry, investment structuring, regulatory navigation, project finance, and capital raising in Kazakhstan. Further updates will follow once the relevant legal and structuring matters are completed.
